We started this because moving day is hardest on the ones who can't ask questions.
A short introduction to who we are, and how we ended up specialising in something most transport companies would rather avoid.

It began with a question nobody could answer properly.
Heritage Pet Transport started with a fairly ordinary problem: a family relocating from Durban to Perth couldn't find anyone willing to give them a straight answer about how their elderly cat would actually be looked after along the way. Everyone could quote a price. Almost nobody could explain the process.
That gap is really what we built the company around. We're not the biggest transport operator in South Africa, and we're not trying to be the cheapest. We'd rather be the company a vet, a breeder or a nervous first-time pet owner recommends, because we handled the small things properly: the water stops, the phone calls, the honest answers about how long something will actually take.
Our mission
To move pets the way their owners would, if they had the time, the vehicle and the paperwork knowledge to do it themselves.
Our vision
A South Africa where relocating for work, emigrating, or simply moving across town never means choosing between your career and your pet's wellbeing.
Four things we hold ourselves to on every booking.
We'll tell you honestly if something isn't a good idea, and suggest an alternative, rather than just taking the booking.
You'll always know who is currently handling your pet and how to reach them.
We plan around the pet in front of us, not an average pet.
If a delay happens, you hear it from us before you have to ask.
What actually guides the day-to-day decisions.
Values only mean something if they show up in how a booking gets handled at 6am on a Tuesday.
Honesty over convenience
We'd rather lose a booking than overpromise on timing or comfort.
Calm, unhurried handling
Loading and unloading never gets rushed, even when the schedule is tight.
Preparation, not improvisation
Routes, rest stops and paperwork are mapped out well before collection day.
Straightforward accountability
If we get something wrong, you'll hear that from us directly, with a plan to fix it.
“Duke is a big, nervous dog and I've had poor experiences with transport before. This was the first trip where I wasn't checking my phone every hour.”
